Campaign Summary
Campaign created Monday, January 4, 2010 11:54:44 PM by Starkiller

The year is 2012, you are yourself in your residence in your town... but something has changed. You have changed, and the change is getting larger with every day.
Campaign Description
This campaign revolves around real life, your real life... except you have begun to evolve into a super human. It will be like the real world... if your powers are discovered, expect the government to come looking for you... and yes the government is one powerful SOB you are not powerful enough to win out against it. You will not fight the law and win.

The year is 2012, a massive change has occurred since 2010. Renewable energy has become the single most used power source due to one man's ingenuity. The inventor won 3 nobel prizes in 2011. His ideas on technology and chemistry garnered him a nobel prize in chemistry and physics, however it was his use of his technological ideas and quick negotiation skills that finally forced a peace between Israel and Palestine with the freeing of the Gaza strip.

This unknown has come out of nowhere to become one of the most powerful people in the world. Within one year the Infinity Corporation went from patenting new renewable technology to becoming one of the largest generators of energy in the world. The inventor-owner has become the richest man in the world with an estimated net worth of 867 billion dollars which he accumulated in the 15 months his company has been in operation. He has gone on to become one of the largest philanthropists ever known. Setting up immense trust funds to ensure a better police force, and repairing almost every inner city school in need. His company has single handedly insured the continued dominance of the United States of America in technology and money. And in 2012 he is making a bid for the Presidency, is James Vavul a brilliant patriot who wants to help the world like he says or is he something more... sinister.

You are you. Whatever your occupation... or family life... it is what it would be in the real world in 2012. Your skills, looks, abilities, disabilities, and so on are just as they are now. HOWEVER, there is one major difference... you have begun to feel a change, the world seems to move by slower, people seem to be moving just that much slower, things seem to be that much more understandable, and yesterday you could program that dang cable box to record your show without a single problem.

In effect all over the world people are becoming something more, more than average humans. There is some web chatter about this, and it is obviously dismissed as conspiracy nuts, and psychos. But you see a pattern... one that no one else can see, and it is telling you that you are meant for something more... Something monumental.

Will you accept fates beckon call or allow yourself to slip back into the day to day doldrums and use your newfound abilities to just make yourself a better worker?

Basically the characters are you, in name and effect. You will play yourself, when you write up your character please be as realistic as possible... I know there are almost certainly no ex navy seals or the such playing so don't write yourself up as one. The beginning character is to be yourself, with all your foibles and all the travesties of reality. No ones character should be more than 50 points at start, remember the skill levels... if you have something above a 12-13 range... I am going to want to know why... and I will expect a real reason. Please also include all of your real disadvantages... if you have family please put them on there as DNPC's, if you have asthma, put it on there.

Now I know your saying... Why would I want to play myself... like I am today. (if your not, well bear with me.) Once the your original character has been created you will then be given 75 points to add on as powers. These can be used to enhance characteristics, add powers, remove disadvantages, and all around make yourself a really cool low level hero. Then we will go through the first adventure, depending on how active, useful, fun you are in that adventure your character will receive between 25-35 experience points... The second adventure will give between 15-25, the third 10-15, and the third 5-10, after that the adventures will give normal experience 3-5/6 experience and will allow for normal character growth.

My intention here is to allow your character to begin to manifest their powers, then the powers are expanding quickly at first and then as time goes on your powers have reached pretty powerful levels, they grow much more slowly. within 3 adventures your character will go from 125 character points to a possibility of 200 character points.

Now with your personal disadvantages. Please include them all, (or at least all you feel comfortable with) but not all disads are worth points.

Character creation:

Begin with 50 total points. if you have 50 pts in disads fine. If you don't use whatever disads you have and then give yourself the rest of the points to put you up to 50.

Everyone gets a free package: +3 Int, +1 spd +4 Com. (Disad: Social lim: Super human, once discovered will be captured and experimented on. 15pts)

You start with this package, it doesn't count against your 50 points.

The 75 points that you then add on (after approval of the primary character sheet) can add anything except skills, (this rule can be amended for someone with a good reason!).

I only require the most basic of backgrounds for the characters. I assume we will figure most of you out through gameplay. What I do require is a detailed description of your powers. I am not saying you must stick to one schtick but I would prefer a one trick pony so to speak. Someone who revolves around one main power. (Think X-men: Cyclops, wolverine, Professor Xavier, what's his name that teleported... you get the picture.) I also really would prefer no multi forms... (but I am able to be swayed on this also if given a good enough idea.

Well Thats my idea, I hope you like it.

I am looking for 3-5 players to form a group and maybe save the world or something!

I failed to mention... I am willing to allow the players a lot of latitude; if you feel you are a punisher deep down in your heart, I am okay with that! If your batman, great! If your lex luther fun times! If you are a superman truth justice and the such great!

Basically: All types are allowed! Dark Champions, Champions, crooks, thugs, Master villains. If you really think you would do it, then I will let you.

Just know, I have studied modern police and classic police investigative techniques and capabilities. I know what people are likely to get away with and what they aren't, also with the new advent of terrorism and the push for even less privacy and more cameras everywhere... you better be REALLY slick if you want to get away with something.

Also you all aren't the only ones who are changing you don't want leave a clue for the worlds newest sherlock holmes. Prisons suck and unless you have a lot of underworld ties or political ties, you will rot there... which also stinks because game play will be highly hampered! (You sit in your cell, shower time, avoid gang rape, exercise, avoid being shivved, cell, sleep!)

Thank you to those that have seen the spots where I wasn't clear enough.
The point total will work like this:
0 points and 50 points of disads. If your original character doesn't have 50 points in disads, then you may add some to make it 50, those disads will be side effects of your power boost!

The power boost gives you 75 points; those points may not be used for skills... (Martial arts can be discussed...)

Starting off, MP's and EC's are fine... if you want a VPP... please start with a MP and after your first adventure I will allow a shift to VPP as you learn your powers better.

There is no, and I repeat no AP cap on a power... however please remember that any really powerful powers tend to be very flashy and will be hard to hide.
